Yuri Andropov was born in 1914, probably in Nagutskoye, Russia.
Yuri studied at the Rybinsk Water Transport Technical College.
Andropov fought the Germans during W.W.II being involved in guerrilla activities.
Andropov was appointed head of the KGB in 1967.
Then, in 1973 Yuri became a full member of the Politburo.
Yuri Andropov died on February 9, 1984, in Moscow of kidney failure.
