SIR JOHN FRANKLIN BIOGRAPHY

John Franklin was born in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, in 1786.

In 1801, John joined the navy in 1801. Franklin took part in the battles pf "Battle of Copenhagen" and "Battle of Trafalgar.

John took part in a journey from 1819 to 1822 across Northern Canada.

Franklin married Eleanor Porden, who later died in 1825. King George IV, Knighted Franklin in 1828.

In 1836, Franklin was appointed the Governor of Tasmania.

John Franklin died in June 11, 1847.
