PRINCESS DIANA IN PUBLIC

Princess Diana's first official tour with the Prince was a three day visit to Wales in 1981. In 1983 the Prince and Princess went to Australia and New Zealand.

In 1985 they went ot Italy with their two children. Other official visits took them to India, Brazil, Canada, Nigeria, Camaroon, Spain and France.

Their last visit together was to South Korea in 1992. During her marraige Princess Diana was the president or patron of over 100 charities.

In December 1993 the Princess announced she would be reducing the extent of her public role. Princess Diana remained as patron of Centerpoint(homeless charity), English National Ballet, Leprosy Mission and National Aids Trust, and President of the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street and the Royal Marsden Hospital.

Princess Diana's last official engagement was July 21 when she visited Northwick Park Hospital, London (childrens accident and emergency unit).

In the year before her death Diana was an active campainer for a ban on the manufacture and use of land mines. Princess Diana visited Angola in 1997 as part of her campaign.
