When a Dalai Lama dies a massive search is conducted to find the child incarnation.
The current Dalai Lama was born June 6, 1935.
Search groups spread eastwood from Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.
There had been mystical signs that the Dalai Lama child was to be found in the direction of the rising sun.
This direction came after the head of the late Dalai Lama was found mysteriously turned East.
The usual position was facing south.
The state oracle was consulted .
The oracle went into a deep trance and then flung a scarf in an easterly direction confirming the first sign.
The Tibetan Regent went to lake Chos Khorgyal and recieved a vision of a three storeyed temple close to a house with carved gables and blue eaves.
Details of the vision were kept secret.
In 1937 the search parties started on their journeys to find the child reincarnation.
One of the groups had journeyed deep into Chinese territory.
As the search group entered the village of Takster in China the searchers found a three storey temple and house as seen in the vision at the lake.
Entering the house the group was greeted by a two year old boy who demanded the rosary around the group leaders neck.
The rosary belonged to the 13th Dalai Lama.
The boy proceeded to name each of the search party correctly. From an assortment of goods meant to mislead the child identified all items belonging to the previous Dalai Lama.
The childs body was also found to bear the marks of a true incarnation.
The boys parents turned out to be Tibetan and the area they lived in was originally part of Tibet.
In 1959 the Chinese invaded Tibet and the Dalai Lama was forced to flee to India.
