CURLY COATED RETRIEVER

The origins of the Curly Coated Retriever may be traced to England where it was used to find and retrieve birds. It was often referred to by its nickname "Curly".

The Curly Coated Retriever has been regarded as the "blue collar" retriever. This is due to the fact that it was mostly owned by a gamekeeper or poacher rather than an aristocrat.

The Curly Coated Retriever was first exhibited as a showdog in 1860.

The Curly has an unusual coat that is composed of very small, tight, waterproof curls. The Curly is a very loyal dog and will be protective of the family.

They are also easily trained.
