AALIYAH BIOGRAPHY

Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001), best known as Aaliyah, was an American singer, dancer, actress, and model. Introduced to audiences by R&B singer R. Kelly, Aaliyah became famous during the mid-1990s with several hit records from the songwriting/production team of Missy Elliott and Timbaland and their associate Steve "Static" Garrett. Aaliyah soon joined Timbaland's R&B and hip hop collective, the Superfriends Clique. She is notable for recording several hit records, including several number one R&B hits, a number one pop hit, and five top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger and starred in two motion pictures before dying in a plane crash in the Bahamas. Born : Jan 16,1979, Brooklyn, New York, USA.

At age 15, her first single "Back and Forth", went to #1 on the Hot 100 singles chart.

Released another top five single called.

Her album "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number" went platinum.

Her hit single from the Romeo Must Die soundtrack, "Try Again," garnered Aaliyah 2 Grammy nominations and the 2000 MTV awards for Best Female Video and Video From a Film.

Killed in a plane crash August 25th, 2001.
