CAT BREEDS

The Cat is a carnivorous mammal of the subspecies Felis silvestris catus. There are dozens of breeds of cat. The Cat has been living in close contact with humans for some 8,000 years. Although the Cat is mostly a solitary breeds, they often form packs in the wild.

A Cat grouping is called a clowder, a male cat is called a tom, a female is called a queen, and baby cats are called a kitten. A Purebred cat is whose ancestry contains only individuals of the same breed. A Pedigreed cat is are whose ancestry is recorded but may have ancestors of different breeds.

A Cat sleep on average 13 to 14 hours a day. The normal body temperature of a cat is between 38 and 39 °C (101 and 102.2 °F). A Cat has retractable claws. A Cat usually land on their feet, but not always. A domestic cat has a sense of smell is around fourteen times stronger then humans.
