Fleas are a common cause of allergies in Cats. The Primary symptom
of fleas is excessive scratching. To detect fleas place the cat on a paper
towel and rub hands on fur. If black specks (flea dirt) appear
on towel, chances are your cat has fleas. Wash cat’s bedding,
blanket and other washable items in hot water. Infestation
may require fumigation. Consult your veterinarian.
Ear Mites :
Feed on fluids in cat’s ear tissue. If left untreated, can
cause deafness. Symptoms include itching around ears, excessive
wax, shaking it’s head or rubbing its ears with paws. Consult
your veterinarian. Can be transferred to other cats, but will
not infest home.
Worms :
Live in the intestines and can cause diarrhea, anemia and
more. If you suspect worms, take a stool sample to the
veterinarian.
