Valiant Car History

The Valiant Car was introduced in 1960, by the Chrysler Corporation. Chrysler promoted the Valiant that year as "Nobody's Kid Brother". In 1961, Chrysler merged the Valiant into the Plymouth range. It was renamed as the Plymouth Valiant.

Production of the Valiant in the United States ceased in 1976. The Valiant was introduced in Canada, in 1960.

In Australia, the Valiant was originally imported, but later was produced by Chrysler Australia. In 1971, Chrysler Australia introduced the all-Australian VH Valiant series.

In 1971, the Valiant Charger VH model was awarded the, Wheels Car of the Year Award. The Charger was cancelled after 1978. Over 565,000 Valiants were produced in Australia.
