Oliver Winchester Biography

Oliver Winchester was born in 1810, in Boston, Massachusetts. Winchester spent his younger years as an apprentice carpenter, then later as a master-builder.

Later Oliver was involved in the shirt manufacture business. Winchester became a large invester in the "Volcanic Repeating Arms Company". He eventually bought the entire company. The company was eventually renamed the "Winchester Repeating Arms Company".

Oliver Winchester died in 1880, in Connecticut.
