Charles Goodyear Biography

Charles Goodyear was born December 29, 1800, in New Haven,.

Goodyear spent most of his life in poverty. Charles was an inventor who discovered a process for vulcanizing rubber and in 1844, Goodyear received a patent for vulcanization. Unfortunetly, Goodyear sold the patent for a small sum.

Charles Goodyear died July 1, 1860. Although the Goodyear company was named in his honour, he was in no way connected.
