HENRY FORD BIOGRAPHY

Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, in Greenfield, Michigan. At just 15 years old, Henry left school.

At an early age, Ford went to Detroit to work, but soon returned to Greenfield to work his own farm. However, the young Henry Ford had no taste for farming and soon made his way back to Detroit where Ford found work as an engineer.

Ford was a genius who in his spare time build a petrol-driven motor car, which he named the "Thin Lizzie". In 1899, Ford raised money through investors to start a Motor Car Company. The investors however withdrew after Ford failed to produce a single car.

Ford did go on to produce a Car that he displayed at the Grosse Pointe Blue Ribbon track at Detroit. By 1903 Ford had founf new investors. Henry began production of the Model A car which proved a major success.

Ford made a decision to manufacture only one model of car, the "Model T". Over 15 Million Model T cars were sold by 1927.

Ford ran for a U.S. Senate Seat in 1918, but was narrowly defeated.

In 1945, Henry Ford retired. Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947.
