LIZ CLAIBORNE BIOGRAPHY

Liz Claiborne (Elisabeth Claiborne Ortenberg) was born March 31, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Liz studied art in Europe in Belgium and France.

Claiborne spent many years working as a fashion designer in New York. Finally in 1976 she started her own company. The company went on to become an international success.

Claiborne retired in 1989 from active management.
