WILLIAM BOEING

William Boeing was born in 1881 in Detroit, Michigan.

In 1904, William graduated from Yale University. For a while, Boeing worked in the lumber industry. It was during flying lessons that Boeing realized the future of aviation transport.

Boeing formed the Pacific Aero Products Company in 1916, which later changed its name to the Boeing Airplane Company.

In 1934, Boeing was awarded the "Guggenheim Medal".

William Boeing died September 28, 1956.
