CLARENCE BIRDSEYE BIOGRAPHY

Clarence Birdseye was born in 1886, in Brooklyn.

Birdseye attended Amherst College. After being part of a fur-trading expedition he gained an insight in frozen food. Birdseye started experimenting with the process of frozen food and eventually took out a number of patents.

Birdseye was one of the founders of the General Foods Company.

Birdseye is also credited with the infrared heat lamp. Clarence Birdseye died in 1956.
