PLATO BIOGRAPHY

Plato was a Greek Philosopher who was born in 428 B.C. in Athens and died in 347 B.C.

His real name was "Aristocles". During his early years he was a pupil of Socrates.

When he was 40, Plato founded one of the earliest known schools in Western civilization, callede "The Academy". Plato at one time was a teacher of Aristotle. "The Republic" is regarded as his most influential work.
