Born August 4, 1792, Field Place, Sussex, England.
Educated Eton College, then went to Oxford University.
His first publication was a Gothic novel, "Zastrozzi" (1810).
At just 19 years of age, Shelley eloped to Scotland with Harriet Westbrook, sixteen, and married.
In 1817, Shelley produced Laon and Cythna.
It was later edited and reissued as The Revolt of Islam (1818).
During the final years of his life, Shelley produced all his major works, including Prometheus Unbound (1820).
On July 8, 1822, Shelley was drowned in a storm while sailing from Leghorn to Le Spezia, Italy.
