Rudyard Kipling

Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay, India in 1865. Kipling was educated at the United Services College, England. Rudyard returned to India where he worked for a local newspaper before eventually returning to England.

He married Caroline Balestier in 1892. Kipling is most famous for the children's story "The Jungle Book".

Rudyard Kipling died in 1936 and is buried in Westminster Abbey. During his life Kipling was awarded with numerous honorary degrees and awards including the "Gold Medal of the Royal Society of Literature", in 1926, and the 1907 "Nobel Prize for literature".
