He is credited with having invented the game of cribbage.
Wrote plays including Aglaura, The Goblins, Fragmenta Aurea, A Ballad Upon a Wedding, Why so Pale and Wan, Fond Lover?.
Most of his work was published after his death.
Rumoured to have committed suicide by poison.
