Vincent Van Gogh

"Vincent van Gogh: Born: March 30, 1853, Zundert, Brabant.

Son of a minister.

In 1869, started work for the art dealers, "Goupil and Co." in The Hague.

Later, he worked as a schoolmaster in England.

As an artist, he was mostly self taught.

His first works attempted to represent the life of the poor.

Vincent moved to Paris in 1886.

He moved to Arles in 1888 where he was joined briefly by Gauguin.

Vincent became a voluntary patient at the St. Remy asylum In 1889.

He moved to Auvers in 1890.

When he died he had sold only one work.
