Gustav Klimt Biography

Gustav Klimt: Born: July 14, 1862, Vienna.

Attended the Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Applied Arts) in Vienna.

In 1888, Gustav Klimt received the "Golden Order of Merit".

Awarded Emperor's Prize in recognition of Auditorium of the Burgtheater.

In 1911 Gustav Klimt wins the gold medal at the International Exhibition in Rome for "Three Ages of Woman".

Named honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1917.
