Keith Haring: Born: May 4, 1958.

Grew up in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

Attended the Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh.

He achieved his first public attention with his chalk drawings in the subways of New York. Haring donated murals to children's hospitals and promoting AIDS awareness.

He died in 1990. The Keith Haring Foundation, established in 1989, continues Keith's legacy of giving to children's organizations.
