TREATMENT

Contact casualty at major Public Hospitals in emergencies.

In extreme cases of Anorexia this may require hospitalisation to enable nutrition to be monitored.

Various forms of treatment are available such as psychotherapy (individual, group or family), counselling, self help groups, medical and non medical practices.

Treatment often needs to be prolonged and although occasional regressions may occur, the patient needs to accept these positively as part of the process of change for the better.

The effort to recover is rewarded by the relief that the recovery brings, both to the sufferers and their families and friends.

Statistics show that recovery is very possible.
