ALBATROSS BIRD

The Albatross is a large web foot marine bird that belongs to the family Diomedeidae, order Procellariiformes. The wingspan of the Albatross may reach 12 ft (3.8m). Their body mass may exceed 12 kg.

The Albatross may reach over 60 years of age. The largest breed is the wandering Albatross. Scientists have found 24 species of Albatross.

They range widely in the Southern Ocean and the North Pacific.

Albatrosses are highly efficient in the air, using dynamic soaring and slope soaring to cover great distances. They feed on squid, fish and krill.
