Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Clay on January 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Growing up Ali won 6 Kentucky championships, 2 national Golden Glove championships, and 2 Amateur Athletic Union Championships.

Ali won gold at the 1960 Olympics

Muhammad Ali became the three time world heavyweight champion.

Ali adopted the Black Muslim faith in 1964. Then, in 1967, Ali was stripped of his title after he refused induction into U.S. Army. The verdict was later reversed by Supreme Court.
